Intraparticle difusion of cadmium and zinc ions during adsorption from aqueous solution on actived carbon

ABSTRACT:

The adsorption isotherms of cadmiun(II) and zincum(II) onto activated carbons were obtained in a bach adsorber. The concentration decay data were obtained in a rotating basket adsorber and were interpreted by mathematcal model,wich take into account the adsoprtion rate, external mass transport and intraparticle difusion. The results showed that the overall rate of adsorption of Cd(II) and Zn(II)was mainly controlled by the intraparticle difusion wich was solely due to pore volume difusion.
