Research
My research goal is the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques and algorithms in Robotic platforms, in order to develop autonomous and intelligent agents capable of making their own decisions under uncertain and incomplete information. To do so the robot/agent could learn and plan its manipulation actions based on the information gathered by its sensors.

Gaze Control for Visually Guided Manipulation
* What mechanisms could a rational decision maker employ to select a gaze location given limited information and limited computation time?

* How is it that humans select the next fixation location?

The aim of this work has been the formulation of reward-based models of gaze control that deal with the problem of fixation selection during the performance of manipulation tasks. Essentially the problem is to decide where to look, where fixations are selected following Bayes' rational mechanisms.

Rule-Based Language for the RoboCup Soccer Simulator
RoboCup provides a broad range of different kinds of domains for research and development. One of this domains is the RoboCup Soccer, particularly the Simulation League, that allows the implementation of autonomous agents working cooperatively.

This project is about the implementation of a high level language, based on rules, for the RoboCup Simulator. The main goal is to use this language as an educational tool, where students can implement behaviours for each player, in an easy and fast way without having to know all the specific details found in the simulator.
