Design of an areonautic Pitot probe with a redundant heating system incorporating phase change materials based on thermal simulations in flight conditions

RESUMEN:

The principal idea of this work is the design of an aeronautic Pitot probe with a redundant heating system incorporating phase change materials (PCM) based on thermal simulations in ight conditions. PCM liberate or absorb latent heat by maintaining its temperature stable during the phase transition from liquid to solid or from solid to liquid, respectively. This makes it possible to use PCM to control thermal conditions in a passive way by taking advantage of their thermodynamic properties without need for external controls or an energy supply.
