Knowledge Based Systems for the Allocation Problem

ABSTRACT:

This paper describes the allocation problem and the different methods that have been used to solve it. Widely describes the use of knowledge based systems (KBS) as an alternative to solve this problem. A real implementation is showed as a study case, is related to a classroom assignment in an University in Mexico. This implementation was done using a high programming language (Visual Basic), to program the inference engine, and a database manager (Access) to build the knowledge base.
